Review of the Duruflé 2CD in International Record Review, Nov. 2012

The November 2012 issue of International Record Review reviews the Duruflé 2CD:

“……in fact Krogsøe’s fairly modest, unflamboyant approach seems generally ideal  for the music of a composer who tends towards the intricate and finely  crafted even in those compositions that may appear broad and boldly assertive…

…Krogsøe ends with the Suite, Op. 5, which summarizes the various facets of Duruflé’s intensely personal and recognizable musical style and well demonstrates his empathy for it. He makes the Prélude mystical and portentous, and the Sicilienne relaxed yet melancholic. The Toccata is quite probably the toccata to end all toccatas, and Krogsøe captures its wild ferocity brilliantly….

…Krogsøe is a terrific advocate for Duruflé’s small but perfectly formed output…”
